Cinema Lab Theatres

Happy New Year! We have great news for 2022.

La Cinematheque is opening an Art Film House where you will have a real movie theater experience! Our new home is at Cinema Lab Theatres at The Village at SOPAC.

For 11 years we have been sharing our love of cinema in different venues: Gas gallery, the Baird Center, the Burgdorff center, and the SOPAC loft. Without a movie theater screen and seating, however, we have not enjoyed the full cinema experience that our art house films deserve. Until now!

Cinema Lab Theatres has partnered with New Wave Productions to bring La Cinémathèque to the big screen. Now everyone can appreciate independent and foreign films in a proper setting.

We are very proud of what our group has accomplished over the past years. As we embark upon this new and exciting journey, we need your support more than ever. Please spread the word that La Cinémathèque is the place for art house cinema in New Jersey. We are dedicated to the appreciation of quality films by audiences of all backgrounds. Let people know that we can now continue our mission in a real movie theater.

Please help us by doing the following:

1. Continue your financial support of our nonprofit educational corporation, New Wave Productions;

2. Join us (and bring a friend) on March 6 at 11: 00 am for our 2022 premier at Cinema Lab Theatres at The Village at SOPAC. We will celebrate the centennial of the birth of Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini by showing a double feature 1962 film Mamma Roma and 1966 Teorema

The film will be introduced by Francesca Degliuli Professor of Italian language and culture

3. Make a New Year’s Resolution to stay with us as we continue to show quality independent and foreign films in this area. Your continued presence will guarantee the future success of La Cinémathèque.

Tickets will be available online though The Village website (cinelab.com). More information will come shortly. Thank you for your support over the years.
