CLAIRE'S KNEE (1970) Éric Rohmer

  • West Orange Arts Center 551 Valley Road West Orange, NJ (map)

In conjunction with the West Orange Film Society, Gerard will host a screening of Claire's Knee, one of Rohmer's Six Moral Tales.

Jerome decides to prepare for a lifetime of matrimony by enjoying one last vacation by himself. Upon arriving at his lakeside destination, however, he finds Aurora, a love from his past, who introduces him to two teenage sisters, Laura and Claire. Although Laura is smitten with Jerome, it is Claire -- or, more precisely, her knee -- that fascinates the soon-to-be-married man.

Gerard will introduce the film and director and will facilitate post-film discussion.

This screening will be held at the West Orange Arts Center in a small space.  There is a 25 person limit so attendance will be first-come-first-served.  Get there early or risk missing out!  The screening is free but a $5 suggested donation is welcome to help offset the cost of renting the space.
