One of the most stunningly beautiful films ever made, "The Big Blue" features gorgeous underwater photography and spectacular location shooting in the French Antibes, the Greek islands, Peru, and Taormina in Sicily. But it is the emotional intensity of the film experience and mystical themes of the story that have made it a cult phenomenon.

Join us in Spring 2021 for a series on the French film movement of the 1980s and ‘90s known as the Cinéma du Look. These films were groundbreaking and shocking in their combination of European art film sensibilities, comic book visuals, Hollywood spectacle, and youthful rebellion.

We will be screening and discussing five seminal films of the movement over Zoom.
