Join us for this free screening at the Springfield Public Library.

The Springfield Free Public Library is pleased to announce the return of foreign film screenings in the library's Palmer Museum. The schedule for this four part series is as follows:

September 19   La Haine (France)
October 17, The Taste of Others (France)
November 14, The Kid With the Bike (Belgium)
December 12 : Something on the Air (France)

All sessions will are scheduled to start at 6:30 PM with a brief introduction to the making of the film, presented by Gerard Amselem, a film enthusiast and teacher of film at Livingston High. School. At the conclusion of each film, there will be time included for audience members to participate in a discussion regarding the film that was just screened.

CASTELLA IS A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN CAUGHT BEHIND THE FAST-CHANGING TIMES. MORE OUT OF BOREDOM THAN OUT OF INTEREST, HE ALLOWS HIS WIFE ANGLIQUE TO DRAG HIM TO A PERFORMANCE OF RACINE'S "BÉRÉNICE." MUCH TO HIS SURPRISE, HE IS OVERWHELMED BY THE POWER AND BEAUTY OF THE LEAD ACTRESS, CLARA. FINALLY, THESE TWO POLAR OPPOSITES ARE FORCED TOGETHER WHEN CASTELLA TRIES TO LEARN ENGLISH AND HIS ENGLISH TEACHER TURNS OUT TO BE CLARA.
